Normally when you make Étouffée there is a lot of prep work involved, not today, we did all of the hard work for you. All you need is 2 pounds of either Shrimp, Chicken or Craw Fish, or if you are like us, mix all of the meats together. Today we are using Shrimp.


  • 3 cups of long grain white rice
  • 6 cups of water
  • 4 Tablespoons of butter
  • 2 Pounds of peeled shrimp
  • 1 32oz jar of New Orleans Style Etouffee Sauce



Combine the rice and water in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and water has been absorbed.

While the rice is cooking, melt the butter is a large skillet over medium to high heat. Add is the shrimp and saute. Make sure to turn the shrimp occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once the shrimp begin to curl, add in the jar of New Orleans Style Étouffée and simmer over medium heat stirring occasionally for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce begins to bubble.

To serve place cooked rice in the middle of a medium sized bowl and spoon the Shrimp Étouffée over the top. To serve family style, place all of the cooked rice evenly in a large serving dish and cover with the Shrimp Étouffée.
